Raul Zambrano:Former pupil of Manuel López Ramos, with whom he specialized in the interpretation of Manuel M. Ponce’s guitar works. Founder, in 1994, and director since 2002 of Cuarteto de guitarras Manuel M. Ponce, he worked with many ensembles and orchestras, such as the Gong Quartet, the Beaux Arts Chamber Orchestra, the Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester de la Ville d’Asunción, Tempus Fugit or La Capilla Flamenca, with musicians such as Gordon Campbell, Lior Shambadal, Arkady Steinluth, Luis Szaran, Christian Göhmer and Dirk Snellings. Composers Juan Trigos, Georgina Derbez, Hebert Vazquez, Eduardo Angulo, Emil Awad and Horacio Uribe have dedicated works to him for guitar.
He is the author of a Historia Mínima de la música en Occidente (“Minimal History of Music in the West”), published by Turner Publishing (Spain) and the Colegio de México, as well as a critical edition of the score of the Suite in the Menor of Manuel M. Ponce realized within the framework of the project dedicated to the Mexican composer (Proyecto Editorial Manuel M.
